Job Description

Supply Chain Specialist

An exciting opportunity exists within the MAI unit at RAF Valley as a Supply Chain Specialist, responsible primarily for the range management of Hawk T Mk1 aircraft assets.

As a Supply Chain Specialist your core responsibilities will include:

Using a demand forecasting tool (XelusPlan), to forecast the range and scale of all new buy requirements.

Placing, repairing and purchasing requests on the BAE Systems supply management IT toolset and monitoring the physical movement of stocks within the Hawk Supply Chain.

Liaising with BAE Systems internal order processing department to expedite orders, and with Hawk Engineering and supply personnel to optimise assets and stock levels, liaising also with the Hawk IOS Priority Progression Controller to assist with expediting critical assets.

Monitoring performance measures throughout the supply chain including budgetary control of expenditure along with developing solutions to continuously improve supply performance whilst driving down costs.

Complying with BAE Systems and RAF processes, operations and procedures.

Planning the pre-positioning of spares to support scheduled maintenance, whilst prioritising off-aircraft repair activity.

Maintaining the spares recovery programme of aircrafts taken out of service.

Initiating the recommendation for disposal of equipment surplus to requirements.

As a Supply Chain Specialist the key skills required will be:

The ability to demonstrate strong customer focus and be a highly motivated team player.

Excellent communication skills.

HNC, ONC, apprenticeship etc. in the relevant area.

The ability to demonstrate tangible successes within a Supply Chain environment.
