We are currently recruiting for a Strategy / Programme Manager to work as part of a new team responsible for developing strategies to define and improve our clean distribution network strategies, develop and manage our Asset Management capabilities and managing ongoing business improvement projects

The Strategy / Programme Manager role

Abstracting, developing and analysing data from different sources to determine the performance of clean water infrastructure assets.

Liaising with Water Services Managers, Strategy, Operational and Maintenance teams to establish; the network capability we need in order to meet future demands; the current position; identify gaps in processes, assets and capabilities and develop options to resolve them.

Drafting and documenting Asset Management Plans

Developing and defining investment opportunities and supporting the development of our short-term and long term business plans.

Key Accountabilities:

Consulting with key staff in the Company to develop and manage a programme of distribution network process improvements.

Arranging and facilitating workshops to identify operational risks, process ineffectiveness, asset capability issues, comparisons with company design manuals, template designs and other specifications.

Review against best practice and develop options to plug gaps

Development of corporate documentation (e.g. Asset Management Plans)

Creating and embedding cross functional best practice working groups and communities of practice.

Chairing and facilitating meetings (agenda setting, sending invitations, action planning and monitoring).

Consultant Management (proposal development, monitoring and progress reporting)

Advise on Asset Management best practice and common framework methodology

Link issues of high level strategy, supply demand modelling, economic cost effectiveness at company, regional and asset level.

Support data collection and analysis

Experience:

In order to succeed in this role it is expected that you will have:

• Knowledge and understanding of water infrastructure and distribution assets, network configuration, monitoring and control environment including pumping and valving and the factors that are important in managing risk and optimising network performance over range of demand parameters.

Knowledge of business process design and documentation techniques - the ability to design and document new business processes

Problems solving skills and the ability to apply to improving existing business processes

Strong numerate and analytical skills and the ability to understand financial and performance data

Qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (e.g. business/economics, Environmental Science, Engineering or similar).
