JOB TITLE: Business Change Manager

SALARY & BENEFITS: up to £51,000 DOE + benefits

WORKING HOURS: Full time, permanent (initially fixed term contract to June 2019)

My client is currently looking to recruit a Business Change Manager in Cambridge, to join the Operational Systems Programmes Team within my client's Operations to work on Project Cobalt for them. Cobalt is a 4-year organisation wide IT refresh project working to replace our legacy exam processing systems and customer administration portals. As part of the project team, you will lead the organisation's engagement in one of the project work streams, ensuring the organisation's needs are met by the new solution and that the organisation is fully prepared to implement each release.

THE ROLE: Business Change Manager-Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
  • · To support the delivery of Project Cobalt releases by acting as the primary point of contact between the business stream and one or more project work streams in respect of planning and managing business deployment.
  • · To ensure that the delivery and adoption of new systems and the re-engineering of supporting business processes before, during and after each scheduled project release is managed successfully, and to then monitor and coordinate the transition to new ways of working to a stable, high-volume, business-as-usual state.

Key Responsibilities to include: - Business Change Manager-Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
  • Works in partnership with the Business Change Lead and Release Delivery Managers to design and complete business impact and readiness assessments in the business stream
  • Works with Key Contacts, other members of the team, and Senior/Middle managers to understand the opportunities to improve business functions and end-to-end business processes through configuration and adoption of capabilities within a release
  • Assesses the implications of changes to existing operations by analysing both existing and new business processes and then identify the activities needed to ensure a managed and controlled transition to new ways of working after a release is deployed
  • Help to ensure that each release delivers what the business requires by ensuring that the critical needs and variances from a standard process are fully defined and clearly communicated
  • Contribute to project workshops as appropriate, ensuring that where compromises are necessary they still result in new processes and systems that will enable the business to operate efficiently and in line with customer expectations
  • Ensure that the overall scope of user acceptance testing covers all expected usage scenarios at an appropriate level of detail and complexity to reflect use at peak operating volumes by reviewing and approving the plans produced by the team
  • Take responsibility for the project management of major new product development initiatives, new service opportunities, or tenders when required.

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished and confident change management professional with excellent communication skills. You are an innovator with the ability to motivate and enthuse at all levels. You know how to build and maintain stakeholder support and can quickly develop collaborative and dynamic relationships at all levels and across multiple business locations.
You have a can-do attitude with a strong track-record in the delivery of significant change programmes in a complex business setting and demonstrable business analysis and process engineering skills.

You might not have previous experience working at an awarding organisation, but you will bring a range of knowledge and skills from your business background, ideally working within the UK education sector but not essential
